the regular discharge I have been having, but tan. I called the OB office and she said she is not concerned, it is around the time to start my period as I would have if I were not preggo, and I experienced spotting on and off my first 3 months of pregnancy. I haven't seen anything in 4 weeks until today. I'm just worried about an infection or something brewing, I'm freaked out because I'm a very clean person, and I'm worried that may be what is causing this, but I have no itching or burning, the doc says it may be an infection starting, has anyone ever had this? She did say if I do start to itch or burn to call and come in so they can treat it.

Yes it is normal, but if you are concerned see your doctor.
I had it several times with my last one. Even up until I was 19weeks. Each time my doctor told me I was fine. Mine was resulted from mini tears inside from the growing baby stretching things. It is basically old blood coming out from the little tears.

Not to scare you but, I would call and tell them to see you right away. You can never be too careful when it comes to these situations. When I got pregnant my first time I started spotting and they said oh its fine, its"normal" but about a few weeks later I was spotting even more. I had a miscarriage. I 'm not trying to worry you but I'm saying don't take any chances. Good Luck and I hope all is well.

Not to scare you, but miscarriages are still possible @ 17 weeks. Even though you are out of your 1st trimester and that is when they are most common. Although some women also have period like bleeding all throughout their pregnancy. Look at the women who've had babies and didn't even know they were pregnant. My friend had bleeding with her last son and he turned out perfectly fine.

could be a yeast infection, they can get you if you are a "clean" person or not, and are very common in pregnancy. Easy to take care of too. Good luck
