I love the name Amelia, but really hate the way you are spelling it. Why not just spell it the typcial way so your daughter won't have to go through life having her name mispronounced and mispelled. I have a friend named Michaelye (pronounced Michelle). The minute she could, she changed her name to Michelle because she had had enough. Please do the kid a favor and just spell it the usual way.

It is a very cute name; however, that spelling will create a lot of problems for people trying to pronounce it. A real bear in Kindergarten and first grade.

After saying it to myself a couple of times I think it's very pretty and unique. Sort of like Amiliea but more sweet and soft. You also have to ask yourself, would you name her this all the time or what would be a nickname? But I love it, very very pretty. Good luck!

This is a nice name but I would try to spell it a little bit different or the little girl may struggle spelling it when she begins school.

Not the way you are spelling it. Any name that you have to explain how to pronounce is a bad idea. Try Amelia instead.

a charming name for a lady! but might i suggest you spell it the original way? Amelia
much easier for the child to live with. she won't be forever explaining how to pronounce it and she'll be much happier with that!
Amelia Anne
Amelia Grace
Amelia Katherine

I have a cousin whose name is Amaliya. It's quite common, my mom had a cousin whose name was Amalia. It's common in mauritius and Indonesia.
Try 'Anggraini' it's the name of an indonesian princess. 'Amiliyah' means gentleness.

Well, I like Amelia, I think it's lovely. I struggled with the spelling above though. It's very...creative.

Sweet name. Challenging spelling. If you always have to write it out phonetically, so will your child. Save her the trouble. Spell her middle name uniquely instead.

Depends...is the pronunciation guide officially part of the name?

My rule of thumb is...if you need to include a pronunciation guide, it's probably not a very good name.
