Whenever your opponent has the crib, try to pass a King to him. A king does not go with anything except a 5 and since its the highest card, it is hard to make a straight run of 3 with it. Avoid passing cards that give points...such as...do not pass 8-7 as that gives 15 but also makes run of 3 possibilities. Reverse this when you have the crib.

Do not sacrifice your hand to make a good crib. Try to leave yourself cards in your hand that make good cards for pegging (smaller cards). Keep aces for that chance at extra pair and pair royal possiblities as you make 2 for 31 (since your opponent may not have aces you will be free to play all of them at once until you reach 31). Getting flush points is nice, but dont sacrifice your hand to do it. Happy pegging.
