The pentateuch is the same thing as the Torah. It comes from Greek roots and literally means "five scrolls." The pentateuch or Torah consists of the Five Books of Moses, which are the first five books of the Old Testament: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.
