Do they come from Sri Lanka, or do they originate from India. If so, where from India do they originate? My friend akshay said he is not one, but I don't believe him.

Tamil Tigers are from the Northers and eastern portions of the island of Sri Lanka.

They are actually from Sri Lanka. The name "Tamil" arises because their ancestors actually came from Tamil Nadu a long time ago and settled in Sri Lanka. However, they are NOT Indian citizens! But, born and raised in Sri Lanka with Tamilan ancesetory.

Clearly they are of Srilankan origin. They are predominantly from the Jaffna area of Srilanka. It is a pity a lot of North Indians have absolutely no idea about the South. They probably thing Srilanka is a province in Tamilnadu.
