I would root for the BOSOX even if i was born on home plate in yankee stadium, with yogi berra delivering me, and babe ruth cutting the umbilical cord. The NY Yankees are the epitome of everything wrong in sports. Take your 26 rings and shove them up your @$$. Yankee-Hater 4 life

It's just easier to like the Red Sox, I grew up in CT where we have no professional sports (damn Whalers) so I got my pick of teams. I chose the Yankees which was pretty hard in the early 90s. Red Sox fans need to have a supreme hate for the Yankees I figure that will be hard living in NY. Maybe she feels uncomfortable being a fan with such a storied franchise as the New York Yankees. So sway her with the idea that with the Yankees they are posed to return to greatness with some great young farm talent. Not like any of the other local franchises that are now trying out the Yankees failed model of bringing in big price free agents. When they were really amazing they had great young talent complemented by overpriced aging stars.

you'll never be able to convince a red sox fan to like the yankees. its like asking a suicide bomber to become a devout Jew. You could get her to like the mets, as the mets and red sox have a given alliance against the yankees. im guessing your a yankees fan by your question but good luck!

You can't make someone like the team you like & to say you would even let her like the Mets, that's pretty lame of you. You can root for 2 teams but not rivals such as below:
COWBOYS/REDSKINS
YANKEES/RED SOX
DUKE/MARYLAND
MICHIGAN/OHIO STATE---AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN
I like the Redskins and my girlfriend likes the Cowboys--do you actually think either one of us is gonna cheer for the other team---I am a Yankee fan as well but you can't make someone like them just because you do. she should cheer for the Red Sox if she wants to

cause boston is a good team there a bunch of melllo guys who just go play the game and on the other hand the yanks r over payed up tight cant play baseball loser who wont even get a wild card spot

You will not be able to convince her not to be a Red Sox fan. No matter how badly anyone's team is doing, people are still loyal to "their" team.
