Anger is like fire, there are different types and degrees of both.
Some types of fires are dangerous to try to extinguish so are better left to burn themselves out, they will peak and then slowly dwindle until the ashes can be smothered.
I let my anger burn out like the dangerous fire though I will keep the smoke and fumes away from people that I care about so they can't be burned by the blaze.

This;
Just Stop and Let Life get Easier!!
When life's problems seem to close in on us from all sides and loneliness and depression come or we become agitated, miserable, doubtful and fearful. Don’t fret! there is a solution when these things crop up, immediately follow these simple instructions.....Say to yourself,( your name), Stop!! Let go and Let God Be God.( again what ever that is to you.) Take a deep, deep breath and let it out very slowly. Relaxing your neck, shoulders, arms, hands, stomach, legs and feet. You will instantly begin to fill with and softly say or think these words to yourself. I am filling with;
Gratefulness
Warmness
Tenderness
Kindness
Gentleness
Humbleness and Peacefulness.
You will find that you experience not only a mental change but also a definite physical change, that begins to instantly change your outlook on the current situation. You can do this anytime anywhere. I have done it in traffic. Behind the slow lady in line at the store. I do this every night before I lay down to sleep. It Works. It really does. Please Try It...
Remember, we have to quit playing God or it will kill us !!!!

Hello dear!
I think of Socrates!
If it is night, I stare the stars!
In the day, if it is sunny (and in Greece it is usually) I look straight to the star of Apollo!
I try to find a flower which is so great and get power from it!
If another makes me angry, I look this person in the eye and see the Universe, instead of the momentary issue!

If I'm genuinly and righteously angry, I don't stop myself. There's a verse of Scripture that says "Be ye angry and sin not", which is God's way of telling us that we don't have to smother our emotions as long as we have our actions and thoughts in check (we're not perpetrating or thinking evil).

I try to distance myself from people and things that upset me; I've a short temper! If I can, I go for a drive and turn my music up really loud to drown my thoughts out and if I can't take a drive, I tend to clean the house with the music up.

I count to ten.
Loudly. Using Swear words.
While punching things.
And biting.
And sometimes there's a baseball bat involved.
Pretty soon, all the rage melts away like butter.

Throw a hissy fit... then get some perspective.
Hissy fits reduce the pent up energy... and perspective is good for most any situation...

I usually don't. I'm slow to anger but once I get there - it's on. Who made you angry precious?

Find someone who's having a hard time of it and do something nice for them. It's a positive outlet.
