Everytime i go to Nc i'm stuck with those damm told
Ny is the worst one
you pay to used the road fill with pot holes and wreck your suspension.

Here in California, the trend toward toll roads is being driven (pun intended) by the fact that it enables CALTRANS (state government) to stretch scarce construction dollars. Private companies pay some of the construction costs and are then allowed to recoup those costs by collecting tolls.
Elsewhere, tolls go to pay for road construction and maintenance (even though you might not guess that given the state of the roads).
