So that everyone can understand you. If I talked to my three year old niece the way I talk to adults, she wouldn't understand me. If I talked to adults the way I talk to three-year-olds, they would be insulted.

Getting people to understand what your points are requires adaption of the message to what is understandable locally. The message is the same. The manner of delivery is changed.
