If you truely think about it, in "your world", there's no doubt you already have. Think of all the people you know, or even don't really know (i.e....same place , ...same time....). Now imagine those lives without you in them, without you being there. There is no doubt, because of you, someone else's life was touched, maybe by something you did or said, right here, right now, we are someone in our world.
( This is the very first time I've ever done anything more on the internet than mail, and research, but even in this moment we've made a difference to each other...)
For example,....about a month ago, there was this little girl, maybe 5 or 6 on quite a busy street, cars parked by meters, small shops, ect. She was alone, but by no means looking like an orphan in this area. She was playing with one of those 5 cent parachute toys.... little plastic guy attached to string thing, plastic bag like parachute.... Now at that age my kids hand was firmly held in mine.
As I was loading my van, that little girl slipped between the back of my van, me, and another car, chasing her little toy, the wind had caught it, and there she ran out into the street...... I had not a second to think as I ran in front of her and stood inches before the car,( my arms up in the air,) that would have killed her. Not only was she small, but to any vehicle, she would have been impossible to see, as she was crouched as low as her drifting parachute toy she was trying to save.
I saved her life, (not my style to say that...but it is true)and she was nothing but embarassed by the look of her rosey freckled cheeks. I only told her , "YOU are much more important than that little toy sweetie,"....looking around the sidewalk, I saw no adults she could have belonged to.
" where are your parents? " She responded, " Over there, as she ran into to the "Lexus" which was parked right in front of me!
Her mother was using her cell phone, i-pod, or whatever, ...and was very annoyed to be interupted.
"Is there a problem? "
I responded, " I just saved your daughters life." I then ignored her, ... I figured she could ponder over that her own way, my attention was then only on that child.....
I told that adorable little girl, kindly.....please be careful, YOU are the one who is important, not toys or things.
I actually saw her rosey cheeks filled with embarassment, turn back into her cute little freckled face,( I believe she actually understood, like for that minute she really was important, more than a" parachute guy", or an "electronic Mommy toy ".)
She gave me the biggest smile I'll never forget. She in turn had an impact on "my world"!!
Her mother never said a word.
Now, imagine if I was not there at exactly that moment, that exact place. How many lives would never be the same.( I am not trying to sound like "Wonderwoman, super hero", ...but it is still so fresh to me.... I trembled the rest of that evening thinking about that little girl !)
I , like you , want to change the world. Now if you really think.... and by looking at your questions, I just know somewhere, sometime, maybe without you even realizing it, you already have. God Bless.
