This program founds its way onto my computer and it is the most frustrating virus/spyware I have ever come across in my life. I tried downloading a removal tool, but I think that was just another spyware program too. I have Norton Antivirus 2007 but it doesn't detect any problems but there most certainly are serious problems! The security warnings just don't stop coming, and my internet speed is super slow. Please somebody help me! I"ll buy you a milkshake.

SpyLocked is a Dangerous fake antispyware software and it is update version of SpyDawn. SpyLocked is a variant of Trojan.Zlob. SpyLocked display a fake warning message to purchase the paid version of SpyLocked.

SpyLocked also displays a fake warning alert with flashing icon on your system tray. A Pop up balloon warning messages claiming that your PC is infected. For example : "Critical System Error", "Your computer is infected", "System Alert", "Security Alert", Trojan-Spy.win32@mx", "Virus Alert", "Security Alert" or "Spyware.Cyberlog-X".

I got all these information from this site and you can also check it. There you can also get the complete manual and Automatic removal.

You have one of the latest variants of the Smitfraud infection.

--------------------------------

How to remove SpyLocked (Removal instructions using the free Smitfraud Fix removal tool) instructions are at this site:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic85376.html

------------------------------

Most "general-purpose" anti-malware programs such as Norton, AVG, AdAware, etc. can not or will not remove this pest Smitfraud. And most who would tell you such, have no actual factual information. They are simply touting there favorite anti-virus or anti-spyware as as "cure for everything". There is no such thing!

BTW, SpyLocker often gets installed when someone goes to view a video at a "not-so well-known" website. The website will say that a "special" codec is needed to view it, and asks to download it to you. If you allow the download, you will NOT be downloading a codec, you will actually download a trojan called Zlob. The moral is, never allow a website to download "stuff" unless it's a well known and respected site. And oh yeah, that video would have played just fine without that "special" codec! P2P downloads using programs such as Limewire have also been known to be infected with Spylocked.

Good luck. Make mine a cold brew!
