The fastest ball bowled by a bowler in a test match was not officially recognized by ICC as this speed measuring is merely for the amusement of general public from some commercial institutions. The fastest ball was recorded at 161.00 k/h and the bowler was Shoaib Akhtar of Pakistan he was bowling against New Zealand at Lahore in 2002 this is the tour when New Zealand had to cut their tour short just before the start of the third test at Karachi because of a bomb blast outside their hotel.
