Most of the answers here are just fine, but please do NOT go to her expecting a favor (such as getting your old seat back again). If you do that you will defeat the purpose of going to her in the first place, and your words won't really matter much to her. If you work hard now to build back a good reputation, your teacher will notice it in the long run.

Heck, you seem sincere, and the best thing you can do is be sincere about your feelings with what you've already said, that is: "Mrs. Herrera, I feel bad; I'm so lost; I'm really sorry for what I did yesterday; could you please forgive me; It wouldn't happen again."

... I apologize for what I did. I promise it will never happen again. I respect you for what you did and I hope you won't hold it against me in the future.

Trust me. Most teachers don't want to dwell on the bad things and the quicker you apologize and promise not to do the same thing again the easier it will be.

You're teacher should not be a close friend. They are your teacher.

You say "I messed up. I'm sorry about that. I will do better."
