I am a teenager entering high school. I mostly use my computer for talking to my friends, surfing the internet, listening to music, designing simple graphics on Paint Shop Pro X, and doing Powerpoint presentations and papers for school.

I want to buy a Mac, so please do not say 'buy a dell' or 'PC Rocks' or something that doesn't help me at all.
Also, I want it to be portable, with wireless capability.

For my purposes, which one will be more useful to me? A Macbook, or a Macbook Pro? Any other tips or suggestions?

Thank you for answers!

I recently went through this. I ended up getting the Macbook instead of the Macbook pro. The pro is great if your going to do serious video or audio production but you can do it on a Macbook. The pro offers an express card slot. If you think you NEED an express card slot than you have to get the pro.
In terms of portability--the macbook is great. I bring my computer to school and when the other kids pull out there MASSIVE Dells and HPs it almost makes me luagh. The macbook is so powerfull and yet totally portable.
I would suggest not getting the glossy screen if you intend to do graphic work. Be warned--the screens on the Macbooks(pro or otherwise) claim to be capable of millions of colors when in fact they can only dislpay thousands of colors. They use a trick called dithiring. Nearby pixels are given a shade of a certain color giving the "illusion" of millions of colors. Two users have brought a class action lawsuit against apple for this.
At the end of the day a Macbook is still the way to go. I would suggest using an external monitor (which you can hook up to your Macbook) when doing your graphic design work so that your colours are true

I think the best thing you could get for your money is a used PowerBook G4, which can do all the things you want for FAR less money than a macbook or pro. eBay would be a good resource.

If you must get Macbook or Macbook Pro, I would suggest a simple Macbook. Pro is good if you need the extra power for lots of design work, for intense programs that must be open. I'm a designer, and have an iMac (which as the same power as a Pro, without the mobility), and I need the extra power for doing 3D animations and complex, professional video editing. For casual use, a Macbook is a better choice.

When you said "everyday things", I was thinking of the MacBook. When you said "editing videos", I was thinking of the Pro. If you are storing footage on your computer, it will fill up your storage fast. And also, video editing requires a decent amount of RAM. But it's your call.
