LOL@50, well if they want a child , i would guess it would be their business, and no one else. They would have to deal with the comment of people asking if its your grandma and by the time your child is 10 that person will be 60 when he or she graduates from school . Her mother will be almost 70 years old. So i would really think about the effects on my child life and my body before making that decision, children are allot of work, you always have to do things with them regarding, playing, carrying, school programs, doctors visits, and not to mention late night feedings. But if she thinks she can handle it then, It her business to do what she wants. she lives her own life, we don`t live it for her.

1.) The test is likely correct. She needs to set up an appointment with the doctor to confirm. 2.) Chances are good, especially if she hasn't started menopause. 3.) She should do what she wants to. A lot of older women are having babies nowadays. There's nothing wrong with having the baby, it might be a good thing for her to experience again especially if she has your help and support. My mom was 40 and step-dad was 52 when she became pregnant with my brother 8 years ago. He's the best thing in my life and I loved being a teenage sister to a baby brother. My parents are older and more mature now than they were when they had me and they have a lot more wisdom to give him. Also, his older siblings spoil him and he has kept my parents "young". Now that my moms older children are all adults and living on their own, my mom is so glad that she has him. She tells me this a lot. I think she was reluctant in the beginning about going through with the pregnancy and being a new mom again at age 40, but she is so glad she did and I am too. I wouldn't trade my brother for anything. Anyway, the age doesn't matter. Society may say that your mom is too old but if she wants this baby she can make it work. Blessings!

If you would like a child and are able to get pregnant, then no, it's not too old. If you are up to the challenges of raising a baby, then 50 years old is not too old, any more than 20 years old is too young. Sure you won't be around for the great grandchildren most likely, but that's a decision for you to make, not us.

Well...it would depend on whether the woman was still capable of getting pregnant...if she had not yet been through menopause. It would overall be much more difficult for a woman to get pregnant at that age as well as the possibility of certain defects and other problems is greatly increased. And too...it wouldn't exactly be fair to a child to have a parent who is the age of most of their friend's grandparents.
That being said, I think the oldest woman to have a baby to date is somewhere around 67 - and I think that was wtih a lot of medical help.

It is not impossible, but rather unusual. But in the big picture, why would a 50-year-old WANT to get pregnant? I am almost 49, and my youngest child is almost six. I can't even begin to imagine starting all over again with diapers and formula and getting up in the middle of the night. If you want a child at this point in your life, consider adopting a school-age girl or boy.

Personally, I think if you are ready to have a child now, go for it! Obviously there are a little bit MORE complications with the pregnancy than there would have been years ago, but you can still get pregnant! I think that having a baby at any age is absolutely wonderful! There have been women older than 50 that have had healthy babies! So, if you are planning on getting pregnant, go for it! There is nothing in this world like having a child!!! Good luck!!!

Yes. I mean, I don't know if it is physically impossible for all 50 year olds, but even if they could why would they want to? Just think of the child. Their parent would be almost 70 by the time they graduated high school!

I'd imagine it is not to late to get pregnant. It will probably be harder for you to get pregnant at 50 though. It also carries a few more risks for your child.

It's not impossible to get pregnant at that age, just less likely. There are health considerations in regards to advanced maternal age, though.
