The original Halloween. I just hope Rob Zombie does justice to the remake. Most John Carpenter movies were great horror films. The original Alien was also a great horror film. Also, check out some of the classic Hammer Films movies from the 60's. They were some of the first bloody horror films and had great actors like Peter Cushing. Good stuff!

For me it was probably Saw. Granted I liked Saw 2 and 3 but the first one was the best horror film in my opinion.

I think the present horror films are more gross than scary.
My fav's are still Nightmare on Elm Street, Jason, Halloween.
My current fav is Hostel and can't wait for the 2nd one.

Present: The Ring - very creepy.
Past: Original Black Christmas. Still creeps me out to this day.

Present would be that movie PANS LABYRINTH ( its sooo scary, my god I felt like my nightmares were coming alive) and past would be this one called THE HAUNTED ( pretty scary for a movie from the 60's, especially if you watch it at night, ALONE!!!)
