In the Mahabharatha, we know Abhimanyu was thought to enter into the chakravyuha, while he was in his mothers womb, but was not thought how to get out. Can anyone tell, who thought him - Krishna or Arjuna. Can anyone give the story behind it.

As an unborn child in his mother's womb, Abhimanyu learns the knowledge of entering the deadly and virtually impenetrable CHAKRAVYUHA from Arjuna. The epic explains that he overheard Arjuna talking about this with his mother from the womb. Arjuna spoke only about entering Chakravyuha and didn't explain coming out of it when he saw Subhadhra sleeping. So Abhimanyu could not come out of the Chakravyuha and he got trapped.

ABHIMANYU'S DEATH-

On the 13th day of battle, the Kauravas challenge the Pandavas to break a circular battle formation known as the Chakravyuha.

The Pandavas accept the challenge since they know that the knowledge of how to defeat such a formation is known to Krishna and Arjuna.

However, on that day, Krishna and Arjuna are dragged into fighting a war on another front with the Samsaptakas. Since the Pandavas have accepted the challenge already, they have no choice but to attempt to use young lad Abhimanyu, who has knowledge on how to break into the formation but none whatsoever regarding how to break out of it. To make sure that Abhimanyu does not get trapped in this endeavour, the remaining Pandava brothers decide that they and their allies will also break into the formation along with Abhimanyu and assist the boy in breaking out of it. It is important to note that the plan is hatched well after Arjuna and Krishna have been distracted away by the Samsaptaka army led by Susarma.

On the fateful day, Abhimanyu uses his skills to successfully break into the formation. The Pandava brothers and allies attempt to follow him inside the formation, but they are effectively cut off by Jayadratha, the Sindhu king, who makes use of a boon from Shiva to hold off all Pandavas except Arjuna. Abhimanyu is left to fend for himself against the entire Kaurava army.

Abhimanyu fights valiantly single-handedly slaying several warriors who come his way including Duryodhana's son Laxman. Upon witnessing the death of his beloved son, Duryodhana is incensed and orders the entire Kaurava force to attack Abhimanyu. Continually frustrated in attempts to pierce Abhimanyu's armor, Karna on Dronacharya's advice shatters Abhimanyu's bow firing arrows from behind him. Thus disabled, his chariot breaks down shortly later, the charioteer and horses are killed, and all his weapons are laid to waste. He attempts then to fight off the bow wielding warriors sitting on horses, elephants at the same time with a sword and a chariot wheel as a shield. Dushasana's son engages in fierce hand to hand combat with Abhimanyu. Ignoring all codes of war, the Kauravas all fight simultaneously with him. He holds his own until his sword breaks and the remaining chariot wheel shatters into pieces. Abhimanyu gets killed shortly thereafter when Dushasana's son crushes his skull with a mace.-

It was Shri Krishan who taught Abhimanyu about entering the Chakra Vyuh. Subhadra was at that time at her parental home as per the Indian tradition to give birth to her first child. There her brother Shri Krishna taught the Garbhasth (in womb) unborn Abhimanyu the art of battle. In ancient India it was known that even before birth the child in womb can learn. (There is an example of Rishi Ashtavakra also who corrected the mistake of his father from the womb of his mother.) So when Shri Krishna was teaching the Chakra Vyuh, Subhadra was alert till he taught the method of breaking and entering all the seven circles. After that Subhadra fall asleep. Abhimanyu, the child in the womb, being an integral part of his mother Subhadra's body also lost the concentration. Thus he missed the final technic of coming out of the Chakra Vyuh.

In Mahabarath as we know abhimanyu know how to enter into chakravyuha. He was not exactly thought by any one but while arjuna was explaining about the chekravyuha to his sister (subatra), abhimanyu was also listening during he was in Womb. he has the capability to learn at that stage itself due to powers he have. At the same time Krinshna knew that he is hearing and getting understand about the chakravyuha he stopped arjuna in middle, till that time arjuna had explained only how to enter but not how to come out of chakravyuha. therefore he knows only going inside the chekravyuha and not coming out and therefore he died with out returning out from chekravyuha

Abhimanyu was the son of Arjun and Subhadra(Lord Krishna's sister).
When Subhadra was pregnant with Abhimanyu, Arjun was telling her one night the method of entering the Chakra Vyuh(A battle strategy with 7 levels).
Subhdra heard 6 levels but when Arjun started teeling about the 7th level, she fell asleep so Abhimanyu learnt how to cross only 6 levels but not the 7th level.

Arjuna was explaining to Subhadra when she was carrying Abhimanyu in her womb. However , she falls into sleep, but Arjuna continues his narration of entering into Chakra Vyuha. Abhimanyu listens to Arjuna`s narration and understands entering into Chakra Vyuha. When Arjuna was about to narrate how to return back from chakra vyuha, Arjuna was disrupted by his Krishna and Abhimanyu never got any more opportunity to learn how to break the chakra vyuha. Eventually he was killed in ChakraVyuha only.

The question is presumed to be 'Who taught".
Abhimanyu was taught to enter the Chakravyuha by his father Arjuna. However he had not taught Abhimanyu as to hwo to come out.Hence Abhimanyu was killed by the Kourawas on the thirteenth day of the Mahabharata War.

it was actually arjuna, while explaining it to his sister (subhadra)while she was pregnant and sleeping on bed the baby inside her (abhimanyu) listened to the coversation and learnyt the whole thing, later he fought with valour and died only because the kauravas got many of their warriors to fight him , breaking the rule(only one should fight with one at a time)
