Create a new user account with admin priviledges. Log in with that one. Unless you want to format the hard drive.

Of Course Formating The Computer Will Remove The Old Account But....The Problem Of Downloading Can Be Resolved More Easily...If You Are Using Internet Explorer Just Go To Internet Options>>>Security>>>Custom Level>>>And Then Enable ( File Download ) which Maybe Disabled....Now You Can Download Anything You Want : )

Yes, all the data, applications, and user specific configurations will be wiped out when you reformat your computer. Please copy all data to an external drive or removable media (CD, DVD, etc...).

I'd also recommend taking note of the video, audio and network hardware properties so you can ensure you have those downloaded and saved to CD or thumb drive.

Don't forget that you'll need either the system restore CD or a retail copy of Microsoft Windows before starting or you won't be able to reinstall the OS.

I had to do this too when I gave my old one to my mom. I also had to repartition the hard drive and convert the file system over from FAT 32 to NTFS, but it did work. My account was gone and I made all new ones for her. I did however see remnants of some of my old files but they were inaccessable and didn't cause any problems.

yes...all data including the admin password will be wiped out, provided you delete the primary partition and create a new one.
