When you sign up for the military you and your family lose their personal freedom. Yes, they can do that.

Hey! If it was a camera, then you could tell it was a camera, because of the round shiny thing. But if it was one of those small squares, with that little red dot light, then that's just a sensor. And I don't think it is legal to put camera's in the dressing room, because that's getting into personal privacy. And it can be used for other purposes (you know what I mean?). If it's outside the dressing room, then it's fine because of safety purposes. But you should ask the store guy about it. And if there is, then complain about it. Because that's not the right thing. It's like watching someone change. But I really doubt it was a camera. Hope this helps!

It's not as simple as whether it's legal or not to have cameras in dressing rooms.

If you're snapping pictures of people who are in various states of undress and they don't know it, it's voyeurism, and that's illegal. If the people in the dressing room are covered, and/or they know they are being photographed, it's not.

In dressing rooms in shops, as long as there is a notice saying they use cameras for security, it's legal. It's a reasonable and legal measure to guard against shoplifting.

I don't know about how that goes on a military base, since there are some higher standards of behavior within the military.

Nope not illegal - The only thing is that the store has to have a sign (even a small one) that says they use video cameras in the store. The only exception in restrooms, but dressing rooms are legal as they feel people will go in the to hide items under there close that they plan to steal. Ever wonder why there are signs that say you can't take items in restrooms but not signs that say you can only take clothing items in dressing rooms.

It's probably LEGAL on a military base. In Civilian establishments, it's EXTREMELY illegal.

I would put this question to the commander of the base... maybe some dead beat put the cameras in there for his / her own pleasure knowing no one will ever question it!
