My boyfriend leaves me a message on my machine (even though I just left his place) to welcome me home and to recap the wonderful day that we had (and we always have wonderful days).
I have a timer for a light and I keep the foyer light lit. I love coming home to a lit apartment. It feels like I was gone for just a few minutes or that someone friendly was just there.

My dog usually gets to me first, with her tail wagging and a smile on her face (she really does smile) then my hubby hugs me, and I go down the hall to the kids room where they are laying down but not asleep yet, and we sit and talk for a little while.

My dog Maynard, he follows me around for the first 10 minutes. He always tries to snag Gus off of my bed.
