Yes, and sometimes like you I wonder , why ? The hidden from personal contact thing I guess is the reason. However there is a good side also. There are peoplewho share poetry and writings that they would never show in person. Also I would rather someone take out pent up anger at me on here than go out and vent it in person on someone somewhere.

Yes, Morrissey, I've noticed that too, in myself. I think it's because we are all typing from behind a screen of sorts, and no one can see us or know what we're thinking, and I most definitely would not say some of the asinine things I've said here. Again, it comes to the anonymous feeling one gets while they're on here, answering questions. You have no idea what they look like, what they're dressed like or anything, except what their avatar may tell you. (No, I do not have whiskers and cat ears but I do have black hair and green eyes) I catch myself answering a question in a really pompous way- something I'd never do in real life, and I feel terrible about it the next day. So, it's not only you!

Its because the Internet allows you to be a b!tch without really getting confrontational. The people cant see you and dont know where you are so you feel completely safe saying whatever you want. I do the same thing. More often than not, I'm brutally honest on here, when in real life, I sometimes try to sugar coat the truth.

Yes! Some rich *itch woman just told me I was a loser because I have a small house- then went on to flaunt her greatness at parenting- I DOUBT THAT, if you are a nasty person online, you are a nasty person deep down. Period. I say things to people I would only say to their face, because I am REAL all the time. I wish there was a way to expose these kinds of people to their families, neighbors and professional associates. That would make my day, seeing some douchwad internet queen lose her friends, family and job because the world found out how much a nasty biotch she is. That is called real world consequences and some of these aholes need it to occur within their lifetimes.

Yeah its true! Its prob because we know that we can be someone whoever we want to on here. We can change facts about ourselves we don't like and we can have some companions while remaining completely anonymous. We could disappear out of the lives of the people on here in an instant if we want. There is no pressure to be someone we don't want to be.

I think people lose inhibitions on the internet; they are anonymous, so they might think its ok to say mean things and be at thier worst, but anonymity shoudln't be a ticket to be ugly to others.

It gives us a chance to say the things that maybe we don't dare voice in our daily lives. That is a good thing.
