Is it only me. I was left thinking ... is that IT?

And how out of character for Jack was it for them to have him contemplating suicide, which is the impression I got with him standing at that cliff looking all dejected.

PizzaPaul's...... Josh as Jack's son. Excellent. That thought actually crossed my mind early on. Quick recovery for Audrey. Too funny. I missed the previews for next season but amazingly enough I though that's what might happen. I still stay it is absolute, positively out of character for Jack to even think about suicide. When the show ends the only way for it to work would be for Jack to die while saving the world again... a situation like the fire strike against that oil platform would make sense. He succeeds in his mission but dies in the process.

Rip: Well, yeah. Problem is last season was spectacular so in comparison this one pales. I was ok with it but the season finale itself sure left a lot to be desired. I'd venture to say it was the worse season finale ever. There's no cliffhanger. We all know Jack isn't going to jump.

Beaudaddy - Yeah. I'm gonna miss Bill and Karen. I loved having a sexy older couple around. As far as another battle with the chinese ... I think you're right. When whatsisface said that his people wouldn't abandon him like Jack's people abandoned HIM they left that door open.

I can't help but think this show is doomed within another year or two. Not that I don't love Jack, but how many brinks of destruction can they possibly create. At some point they're going to start getting repetitive and that's the kiss of death.

oh crud!! I forgot about his daughter, the ingrate. and too funny about his not shooting everyone ... good bad or indifferent. That's true. I agree he has earned a breakdown. I just don't see suicide and that's honestly what I thought he was contemplating. You might be right tho. I'm happier with that. Just contemplating his future. Works for me if it's true.

I hope this is ok with everyone but I don't think it's fair to choose one person's OPINION as better than another's. It's not like I was seeking a factual response or something. SO I'm leaving it to the voters. Everyone enjoy your day.

Good, it wasn't just me who felt so

What really surprised me was Phillip Bauer. Right after Josh shot him, he just got so..so...I dont know...I cant believe he just calmly sat down and waited to get blown up on the oil rig. He was such a @%(@+% up until Josh shot him..it was like a cop out ending

Next: Chloe being pregnant. Congats, but did you see that coming from 5 miles off??
EDIT: To Beaudaddy00..ROFL!! As much as I love 24, if Jack is the father, I'm outta there..mwahahahhaha. We know it couldn't have been but wouldn't if have been a blast if Milo was the father.. >)

I have lots to rant on :) but I'll leave it with the famous "Jack on the bridge/suicide??" scene. We know it's not going to happen, but still. Jack needs to stay alive...hopefully Audrey will eventually recover

I think your wrong about Jack he was pondering his future and where it will be, he loves Audrey but know her father correct about his future. Jack has been through a lot the last few years and has had no time to absorb it in. He's dejected because he feels his country has forgot him his daughter want nothing to do with him what more can happen to one man. Jack will survive because that is what Jack does but, give him credit for a great season finally he's earned a break down and never took it yet. As far as Jack being out of character he open up more of who Jack really is a guy in a really hard spot doing his best not to kill everyone(good and bad guys).

I couldn't agree with you more. This season was disappointing. After the Russian and Fayed were killed, everything else seemed uninteresting. The whole thing with the CTU invasion and the FB sub circuit board made me feel that the writers had run out of ideas. I also thought that Jack would commit suicide at the end, but then I remembered him saying that he wouldn't give his life for an unworthy cause. I think last season was the best season because it had better, exciting twists and unexpected turns which left the audience wanting more.

I agree with Vinnie. The real season finale happened weeks ago when Jack battled Fayed over the 3 remaining nukes.

I was let down by Jack leaving Audrey. It's not in his character to give up so early. If he wants it enough, he'll fight for her and a new life.

I predict we'll see Josh as Jack's son next season.

Lastly, why the hell was Graham executed by Phillip anyway? What was the big secret he had to be killed in order to protect. He'd already given up their involvement in this seasons plot as well as last seasons. Was his dad secretly working on a weapon to destroy the world, like Dr. Evil might?

I agree with you! I was so disappointed with most of the 2 hrs. I had the same feeling at the end and thought he was going to jump for a second. Did the thought ever cross your mind did Phillip Bauer really die or escape? the boat was right there and he did have the component. Chloe pregnant who didnt see that coming. Is it going to be Jacks too? (j/k) They also left the door open to start the new season with another war with the Chinese. I was hoping they would slam that door and start next season with something fresh! Until next time...............

i also thought about the suicide thing. This season overall was disappointing. I know they are signed on for at least two more seasons and possibly doing a movie as well. They somehow need to try something different than the whole terrorist thing. In the end, its always the same old thing: someone wants to kill a lot of people and then Jack somehow saves the day right before the end of the 24th hour. Season one got me hooked b/c it had a gripping storyline and had no terrorist activity at all.

I am with you 100%.... Jack is too tough of a guy to take the coward's way out. 24 always has a tendency to insert those sappy moments.... Jack almost crying telling Audrey he loves her. Last season ended much better with Jack being captured but they didn't do anything like that this season... it must be because they still aren't sure about 24 returning next year.

I couldn't agree with you more. At least have Jack stand on the ledge or the senator push Jack something, anything. That ending really and truly sucked!!!

Next season should be "24 hours in the life of Nadia," starting with the 2 hour premier: Nadia's long shower after the worst day of her life.

I thought so too - HOWEVER - here is the next season opener - just as he is about to jump - Audry will be behind him and call his name - and he will find out that something else has happened to his nephew (which I think will be revealed to be his SON) and BACK to CTU it is.
