When I am in need of some relief from a distressing situation, I think of snuggling up to my dog and picture his cute little face and the comfort he brings me.

What brings you happiness?

There is a dog beach near here. Its always fun. The dogs have so much fun, there is so much silly stuff going on it always lifts my spirits no matter how gloomy things might be. Also, petting my cats is real nice, they are very loving, sweet, beautiful little friends.

When I lived in the area, I used to take a long walk to a place I knew, Donnington Castle, just outside Newbury. Somehow just sitting up there in a place with such history, looking over the town and the little people down there gave me comfort. To know that I was just one of thousands that had sat in the same place, looking at life going by was enough to remove me from any problems and gave me a place to create a new aim for the next day. A place that reminded me that nobody lasts forever and that people can make what they want of their lives, no matter what is put in their way.

These days I tend to get stressed less, but its great to be out on the Boat fishing. Do that twice a year, great way to escape life's way of trying to get you into a giant hamster wheel.

I think of snuggling up in a beautiful empty house, on the sofa with a big soft blanket, alcohol and a stack of my fav films. face mask, nail polish and a big tub of vanilla chocolate fudge haagen-dazs. Bliss
Thanks for the thought, I needed that

The relief I get is looking into my children's eyes (even though they could of caused the anger) and realize that they are just young and innocent and that they are learning. Then all the anger disappears. It is just the thought of them being so innocent in this world that brings me so much happiness, and the fact that they love me unconditionally.

Nothing beats that.

Sometimes at the gym, on the treadmill. Sometimes on the road if it's a long quiet drive. Most times on Answers, reading all the funny comments and bizarre questions that make me feel less alone and crazy. Isn't that weird?

On the water, more specificially on a cruise ship. Staring at the sun setting over the water and the stars above. Beautiful and very relaxing and peaceful.

My wife and my dogs of course are the best comfort of all. I also love being at the beach. There is something calming and healing about the ocean and it's sounds.

Just like one of the other respondants, I go to the gym to unwind and clear my mind. It used to be watching Leeds United but that just adds to my problems now!
