Hey, I'm from Arkansas, and we're kind of in the same boat. Both Arkansas and Louisiana are small population-wise. And many bands are looking to tour, maybe, the 25 or 30 cities where they think that they can make the most money.

And some of it also depends on demographics. Bands look at other things beside population like: what type of radio stations do best in your area? - a Rap band may not tour a big Country & Western area, where there's not a successful Rap station. Also the potential arenas. concert halls that would host a concert come into play. If they would come to your town, where would they play, how many people would it seat, and what would it cost them to rent the arena?

I'll agree with Laura or if they do play SC it's in Myrtle Beach or Charleston both are 200 mile drives for me. Although Tool's coming here next month which is pretty cool. Most bands though skip this area (Greenville/Spartanberg) and go to Charlotte or Atlanta.

I gotta agree with you after having looked at the Pollstar list of upcoming New Orleans shows. The only ones I would consider seeing are the Deftones and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Most of the other acts scheduled I've never heard of.

I'm sure you're exaggerating. New Orleans is a major concert venue and I've seen alot of major acts tour through there. I'm in Utah...so imagine what it's like here.

Not sure maybe bevause after the hurricane katrina your state went downhill. Maybe it does not have a large population like Cali and not many people in demand for certain singers!!!!
