Do these people actually WANT unwanted pregnancies and various STDs? Do they get a tingly feeling inside just thinking about abortions?

Maybe you need to learn this:
self-control = the ability to control your own behavior, especially in terms of reactions and impuls

If an unwanted pregnancie is too daunting for you, cover it up or keep your zipper closed.

If you cannot deal with the consequences do not take the risk, is that a hard concept to grasp? People need to stop looking for the easy way out.

In response to Andrew: Conservatives don't want that taught in the school system, it is the parents responsibility to teach their children about sex not the schools and government

I think a more medial answer to the question is the reason the abortion rate may be higher in conservative families is mostly because they are less willing to discuss possibilities other than abstinence. Liberals on the other hand do not have the ability to realize the amount of responsibility placed on the individual if they do decide to keep the child. Both sides have it wrong. I think what needs to happen is to study the other countries that have a lower unplanned pregnancy and lower abortion rates, note what their practices are and see how they can positively influence the country.

"Good thing we've still got liberals -- finest form of free entertainment ever invented."

Whether they are defending the Soviet Union or bleating for Saddam Hussein, liberals are always against America. Quote from Ann Coulter I think she says it best lol...

Do liberals want unwanted pregancies and STDs?

Funny, it's the CONSERVATIVES who are against teaching about birth control and are against teaching people about using condoms.

The "abstinence only" teaching methods have been proven to be a failure - the kids get pregnant just as much, and get diseases much more often.

The liberals have always been for informing people about protecting themselves. The conservatives magically think that if you keep them ignorant, they won't notice anyone in a sexual way.

That's why the conservative view on abortion is so hypocritical - they can massively reduce the demand for abortion by allowing access to information and contraception, but they actually fight AGAINST it.

I know conservative are afraid of sex, but there are other options besides warped, frustrated, closeted urges and all-out orgies, you know.

Yes, completely. They are allergic to responsibility. Or maybe they are offended by it somehow. Maybe it is not Politically Correct to think that people should be responsible for themselves.

Funny how all the Libs can do is bring up the war in Iraq as an argument. Cute lil' Libbies. We should keep them in the Zoo.

"pregnancie"????

Wow.

I notice that you avoid discussing the unwanted children you're forcing into the world.

So you're okay with them dying... they just have to be BORN first, right?

Gotcha.

No wonder I'm a Democrat... I could never, EVER believe that it's not okay to abort a pregnancy but it is okay to let a child starve to death. (That theory coming from the party that insisted that removing Terri Schiavo's feeding tube was inhumane.)

People like you refuse to acknolwedge that children are an expensive commitment. When someone realizes that they don't have the money to take care of themselves while they're pregnant, or take care of a child... abortion is a logical solution. (Not all children are attractive adoption candidates - lots of kids NEVER GET ADOPTED.)

Maybe, you are not understanding their question.
The argument it seems that those who are pro-life, seem to forget all about that life right after birth.
The Republican party foremost promotes greed disguised as personal responsibility.

Let me give you an illustration , taken from the Republican manifesto:
If a young woman has an abortion , because of economic, social,or other reasons she has offended the party.
If she has the child , and has to apply for government subsistence, she becomes a welfare queen.
This is the stigma that your party places on all women.
