The most influential figure skater ever has to be Brian Boitano. Hell they made a song about him for South Park. As far as most influential figure, Marilyn Monroe. Her figure made millions of young men lust for a blonde bombshell. The most influential action figure is hands down GI Joe with the Kung Foo grip. I will destroy anyone who debates me on that.

The guy who invented the wheel.
Or the girl who invented the wheel.

Because with the invention of the wheel came faster transportation. Instead of just riding a horse or walking on foot, you could now carry a cartload of goods from town to town. You could travel a lot further without getting tired, which led to more exploration and meeting different cultures. Which in turn led to the exchanging of ideas and religions and politics and everything.

I read a book on that topic once, it said the most influential person in the history of the world was Mohammed. Jesus was runner up. The reason is that although Jesus has obviously had a lot of influence, most of His influence came from the Apostles preaching His word--Jesus' influence was primary but most of His historic influence was due to the work of His followers. Mohammed's influence was more direct, so he was considered the most influential, at least by that author. And if you total up the number of people who accept Islam as their religion, that author had a reasonable case for his conclusion.
