I thought the ending was good but a bit weaker than everyone expected after such a great season.
I loved Nathan's last-second decision to save everyone when all the chips were down. And I liked Claire's escape from the skyscraper window. But the battle with Sylar ended with a whimper, not a bang. I mean come on- he just stood there dumbly while Hiro charged in and skewered him??? I mean, come on- that's no way for a major villian to go down, without even trying. I mean, it's like the Death Star blowing up because of a gas leak, or Darth Vader getting into his Tie fighter and being killed by a stray richochet from Porkins testing the guns.
The battle should have involved more abilities on the part of Sylar and Peter- pulling out all the stops and maybe fighting to a tense stalemate when there's a split-second opening where one of the heroes could finally nail him.
Also, couldn't Peter have just flown himself out of the city? Don't get me wrong, I think Nathan's sacrifice was the most heroic of all, but I'm thinking once that idea came up... well maybe not! Peter was never able to fly the entire series except when Nathan was around, so maybe Peter had a mental block, that's the one thing he couldn't do.
Hiro in medieval Japan wasa great touch. In fact, most of the character moments like "Call me Noah" were excellent, I just wish the final Sylar battle wasn't such a dud...

The final showdown could have been better with Peter and Sylar, with all the powers they both absorbed throughout the whole season there should have been more action. But at least we will have Sylar back with this new villian that Molly was so afraid of, plus you have the core heroes back and you know they will add more characters throught the season... for the 1st season it was pretty bad a**

If Sylar was still living then why didn't he blow himself up?
You never see Sylar get away.
All you know is there was a lot of blood on the ground heading to that man hole cover. Hiro stuck him in the heart with a sword and that word creat a lot of blood all over the ground.
Think back to just before Sylar's eyes grow dark he sees his own death. Why do that if he is going to live. Why if he lives doesn't he explode? There are a lot of people thinking he lived but seeing is believing. Until they say he got away there is no reason to believe they did not take him to the morgue. He could not regenerate and Candice did not have the power to shape shift only to make people see things that weren't there.
Gabriel died. I would think Damien or Lucifer is next. Some one so evil that Molly is afraid of them more than the Boogeyman.

I'm glad Nathan stepped up and became a true hero in the end. He was being manipulated by his mom and Linderman, and he finally stood on his own and made a great choice. I'll miss Peter, though. I'm kind of hoping that he didn't die, like Sylar, and we will see him again next season.
Loved the teaser at the end with Hiro back in Japan in 1671 (I think that was the year).
I also cheered when Claire jumped out that window. Personally, I wanted her to kick Nathan's mother's a$$... but it is a family show :)
So, now we all have to wait with anticipation for Chapter Two. This summer is going to go by so slow.....

I think there could of been a better showdown between Peter and Sylar other than some telekenesis and some fisticuffs. But my theory is that no one died. Parkman took some bullets to the chest but ended up getting carted off in the ambulance still alive and Sylar escaped into the sewers. Nathan flew up in the sky with Peter before he exploded but what I think is Nathan got him so far up right before the explosion then flew off to avoid being caught in it and we all know that Peter will survive the explosion because he can regenerate and he can also fly himself back down to earth when it's all done. Who else - oh yeah DL - He also looked fine at the end of the episode after being capped by Linderman so in my humble opinion we'll see everybody back for "Volume 2"

Well, where have you been? Tim Kring has said for months that if there was any way to keep the character, they would - because he likes both the character and the actor. Besides, if Sylar died (and Linderman is already dead), who would the Heroes battle next season?
