I need some ideas for a creative story. The story has to be based on the genre of the fantastic.

The story must have a strong sense of genre, and it is acceptable for it to be a reworking of an existing fantastic motif or story. For example, a fantastic motif could be seeing your double somewhere.

The story needs to have a strong sense of genre, and be interesting to read. I am stuck for ideas. I was thinking of writing a story based on "the double" motif, but im still a bit clueless really.

I have never done creative writing before so i dont have that experience in writing. :(

This assessment sounds great, as you can really let your imagination go wild! In sci-fi and fantasy anything can happen! You can set in a future or parallel reality or fantastic land. Anything can happen

Think of your favourite stories when you were a kid, maybe it can help. e.g if you like Narnia books, maybe you can write a story set in this world? you could base the main character on yourself and just write about things that you would like to do in that place.
Or base it on your favourite film! do you like matrix? or minority report? or blade runner? or I,robot?

Basically you can do whatever you want! You could even write how you tried to get an answer on yahoo and you got sucked into your computer how you find your way out!

good lack!

Try reading a bit of fiction yourself to get ideas. It sounds as if Roald Dahl's short stories might be good, try a collection like 'Kiss, Kiss'... it includes things like brains in jars, machines which allow you to hear the sounds trees make, and murderous landladies, which could be what you're looking for...

Of course, it doesn't have to be Dahl, you could go for someone who was more Sci-fi, or swords n' sorcery type fantasy, but a good way to learn how to write good fiction is to read good fiction :)

Good luck!

If you are writing a short story, and you quotes fromother people, then it is plagiarism, but if you try to pass off someone else's work as your own, then its wrong, and your last sentence, just state that heard this saying from other source than your own.Good Luck with your short story! Just remember use your own words, and you use someone else's words say so.

Not sure this is quite right but how about a story about someone who when they go to bed a night astral travels, leaves their body. You could have them go to different places and experience all sorts of adventures.
Good Luck.

The writing needs to be creative. That means you have to create something new and not rework someone else's creation. It also means that YOU have to do the creating.
