He is still alive and still writing, although his health is failing. He had visited my town on occasion for our science fiction festival and given talks and attended performances of his plays by local theater groups.

No. He also did the T.V. show Night Gallery and I think The Twillight Zone.
It's romoured that he had his ashes sent on one of the shuttles to be scattered in space.
I don't know if he really did or not.
