There are lots of possible causes; too many to start capital-W Worrying yet, but I certainly wouldn't dissuade you from a doctor visit. An increase in stress, particularly something like the recent death of a close loved one, might have caused your body to enter "emergency mode" where it starts becoming superfertile to increase your odds of conceiving. Two periods, in this case, probably means two eggs were released, providing twice as many chances for conception. Actual physical trauma (a sharp blow to the abdominal area) might also do this. The blow would not necessarily need to be painful or debilitating; you might not even remember it happening (for instance, bumping into a table corner). Third, it's well known that your "schedule" can change if you start regularly spending time in close quarters with another pre-menopausal woman. The classic example is the sorority house, where many of the girls end up having their periods on the same day. This sometimes happens even in situations like when you get a new female coworker in the office, though. There are many other less-common possibilities, like exposure to weird chemicals. While everything's still fresh in your mind, try and make a list of any major physical, environmental or psychological changes to your life within the last month; this may provide a clue.

I wouldn't scare about it, but you should ask your parents if you get a screening for it. Better safe than sorry, yes?
Sometimes when women are in close quarters or share bedrooms like sleepovers or whatever, we sometimes start sharing periods with each other, whether that comes early or later than normal, it is normal......the dominant female will dictate when the period will come.
I would get an appointment for sure, but I wouldn't worry about it, since this is normal, especially if you have went to a sleepover or had a lot of stress recently.

A: A pain in the A**. One is more than enough, thank you!
Seriously though. Irregular periods are pretty common (both too many and skipping) and generally nothing to worry about - and are generally caused by stress. Are you having any other health problems related to it? If you're really worried, call your doc's office, tell them what's going on, and they'll let you know when and if you should come in.

Hey... nothing to worry about. Sometimes due to hormonal changes this does take place.
You may watch for another 2/3 periods. If they are regular need not worry. It depends in your menstrual cycle. It does happen sometimes.
If this irregularity continues for another 2/3 periods visit your doctor.
