How do I fix the formatting on a page on word? It won't let me indent one line without indenting the one befor

Are you trying to do a 1st line indent, a paragraph indent? Highlight the line or paragraph you are trying to indent and move your indent markers back to the margin. Then place your cursor at the beginning of the line and use your tab key. Also check your paragraph formatting and adjust your indentation settings. This may or may not apply to what you are trying to accomplish.

If its just one line you are interested in, try putting in a new tab stop on the ruler and put a tab in the beginning of the line.
