The reason the software is the weakness is that in order for something to be a robot, it has to operate without further instruction. I could attach a broom to a riding lawnmower with duct tape quite easily, and I'm not even an engineer. The hard part would be to control its movements so that it sweeps my driveway thoroughly and without wandering into the street or yard.

yeah. Achilles heel is the weakness. the software has to be spot on or it will not work correctly

It means the weakest point. It comes from Greek mythology. The mother of Hercules was told he would become invulnerable (he couldn't be hurt or killed) if she would immerse him in the river. Unfortunately, she held him by the heel and so covered up that part of his body. He was eventually killed by an arrow shot into that heel.
