.8 milliliters
Immunizations hurt and make baby feel crappy. Give him the tylenol before you go in.

I think its 0.4ml for a 3 month old. But I would suggest you check with your pediatrician too. Some pediatricians say we could give the baby some tylenol an hour before he/she gets the shots, but some say only give tylenol if baby has a fever afetr the shots. I always give my daughter tylenol right after her shots so she can sleep for a little bit and does not feel too sore.Good Luck with the shots!!

I work in a doctor's office and I have found that the pediatricians really don't advise you giving a child Tylenol before they are evaluated for shots because it may hide a fever if the child is sick and shots should never be giving while the child has a fever. Instead bring the Tylenol with you to your doctor's appointment and if you're still not sure of the dosage, ask your pediatrician and then give right before the shots are administered.

Take the bottle of Tylenol with you to the Dr. office, they will tell you how much to give by the weight of your child. They will do this just before they give the baby his shots. If they don't automatically do this then ask them. That way the Tylenol will kick in before the fever, if he should get a fever.

Ask the doc when you get there- before the exam so it has a little time to kick in. I always just gave Emily a bottle or let her nurse during her shots. She still whimpered a little but she was distracted enough by eating that it wasn't too bad at all. My dr said we could alternate infant Tylenol with infant Motrin every 2 hours for the first 24 hours after shots to prevent discomfort.

The dosage is based on WEIGHT NOT AGE so don't give any to him before you go to the peds office. Once they weigh him they can tell you how much to give him. This will be long enough beforehand to be effective -- this is how we did it for the first two sets of shots as per our peds recommendation.
Ask them for a dosing chart if they have one so you will know for future reference, although babies grow so fast that you might still need to wait until you get to the doctor's office to get an accurate weight. As previous answerers said, overdosing can cause huge problems so you don't want to give to much. I'm pretty sure that .8 mL (a full dropper full) is way too much for a three month old unless he's a big baby.

every child is diff. I never gave the Tylenol before the doctors visit they gave her some about 15 minutes before her shots and she always did really well after her shots. I think I have the only child in the world that hates band aids though. The shots don't bother her, it's the band aids that will make her howl and cry.

Call your doctor and double check but my pediatrician said to give my daughter 0.8ml an hour before the appointment and then the same amount after the shots. I thought this sounded like way too much and gave her 0.4ml each time and she was fine with that too as long as your baby is at least 10 pounds. Good luck!

Ask the nurse who gives your baby his immunizations. It's all based on weight. She'll (if she's a good nurse) will tell you without you having to ask. If you forget to ask or don't have time, just read the back of the box of the Infant's Tylenol.

I would suggest calling a pharmacy and asking to make sure you do not give too much Tylenol or speak with the nurse at the peds office, they are very informational.

my 3 month old daughter just went to the doctors to get her shots too; they told me 0.8 ml of Infant Tylenol before the shots; it reduces the pain of the shots when given. and every 4 hours give 0.8 ml's again to take down the fever
