i recently upgraded my working media in my computer from XP to Vista, and then downgraded it again, after having found out most of my programs dont work on Vista, but i have done loads of weird things to my com now..
1) i made a multiboot of two XP's(one of which is corrupted and can't be deleted)
2) my msn isn't working at all, Skype is though
3)Security Centre isn't working properly
4) All hardware, USB drives can't work properly on my com, i 've tried it on other com's)

sounds like you had 2 partitions each handling certain functions and the corrupted partition is conflicting with the good partition. I hate to do this myself but I would just bite the bullit and reformat the hard drive and reload windows xp then put all your programs and hardware back in the system.

Your PC is really hosed.
Best advice, start over with a clean install of XP. See link:
Don't install Vista again until SP1 is released.
TIP: Back up your personal data FIRST.
