The issue has be politicized. That means there is money in it for the right people and the means to further the socialist agenda for others. We can clearly see the sun melting ice caps on Mars which is even further away from the sun than we, yet, people are so eager to accept the dogma that modernity is evil and destroys the planet.

The sun is causing an increase to the earth's temperature. We cannot control the sun. People want to believe that we can control everything, so they refuse to accept reality and substitute their own.

They cannot seem to get their mind around the obvious facts that the people selling them on this carbon dioxide bit are the greatest offenders. They cannot see how these offenders have already taken steps to guarantee they their own lifestyles will not be adversely affected by this "carbon credits" scam.

We will be sweating it out without air conditioning and walking or using mass transit while the elite jet set around the world in limos and hummers because they can afford to purchase "carbon credits".

People are actually buying this nonsense we are being sold.

I agree and I'm so mad I could spit. This all began when some crackpots started saying that the earth isn't flat. Now look where that's gotten us.

We need another inquisition to make these nutjobs stop thinking they know more than the limited knowledge God wants us to have!

If you really think there is no credible data, you must either be joking or be living in another planet. In either case no point in getting into any discussions with you sir. Have a nice day.... if you can and while you can... and I addressed you as "sir" beacuse I don't believe any lady would ask any question as pointles as this one.

There is plenty of credible evidence that it is happening. The dispute is what impact we play. The data suggests our role is minimul so I hope any legislation is focused on how to deal with whatever consequences arise from the warming.

It gives the impression to the people that they actually give a darn about our world and environment.

Plus, the obviously got bored with the real issues at hand and need some sort of excuse to say they are earning the outrageous salaries they get paid.

"The most profound danger to world peace in the coming years will stem not from the irrational acts of states or individuals but from the legitimate demands of the world's dispossessed. Of these poor and disenfranchised, the majority live a marginal existence in equatorial climates. Global warming, not of their making but originating with the wealthy few, will affect their fragile ecologies most. Their situation will be desperate and manifestly unjust.

It cannot be expected, therefore, that in all cases they will be content to await the beneficence of the rich. If, then, we permit the devastating power of modern weaponry to spread through this combustible human landscape, we invite a conflagration that can engulf both rich and poor. The only hope for the future lies in cooperative international action, legitimized by democracy. It is time to turn our backs on the unilateral search for security, in which we seek to shelter behind walls. Instead we must persist in the quest for united action to counter both global warming and a weaponized world.

These twin goals will constitute vital components of stability as we move toward the wider degree of social justice that alone gives hope of peace. Some of the needed legal instruments are already at hand, such as the Anti Ballistic Missile (ABM) Treaty, the Convention on Climate Change, the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaties (START) and the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty. As concerned citizens we urge all governments to commit to these goals which constitute steps on the way to the replacement of war by law. To survive in the world we have transformed we must learn to think in a new way. As never before, the future of each depends on the good of all."
