Hi I am not a professional but have a lot of experience with this sort of thing and can offer a couple of good starting points..
There are no easy answers to these things as the spyware programs adapt to different anti-ware.. But.. Good progs to find (most on www.download.com) are ad-aware se and spybot search and destroy. If you look around there are full versions limited only by time. Also, you may think of upgrading your anti-virus to a program that runs several filters that activly scan your pc. A good non-norton clone for this is Avast from www.avast.com it is totally free to home users and I have been using it for years without any problems (apart from the ones that murphys law sends along!!)
I hope this helps in some way or at least points you in some directions you maybe havent tried yet.

the infection in question is a dialer program which hides from the user during operation. Removal of this software is advisable if it is not installed for a purpose
it is also known as Dialer.BT.e Dialer.BT.f,and has close associations to british telecom,
theres a program called a-squared Anti-Dialer 2.1(http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/download/),this program scans the harddisk for Dialers and provides a permanent background guard protection against new Dialer infections.
this is actually freeware so its free to use,however as i have never used it i cant comment on its saftey,however the site received a green banner from mcafee security "site advisor" so the website and program have beeen reveiwed safe by security leaders mcafee
another free anti-spyware program worth a go is "pest patrol" from computer associates(http://www.pestpatrol.com/),this is popular with users who are serious about internet saftey
beleive it or not windows defender is also a very good anti-spyware program,its stealth scanning mode uses little system resources,and can be downloaded from http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx
i hope this helps bob
good luck mate!

When you have spyware or a trojan, the most critical thing you need to do is switch off system restore and scan in safe mode. Many trojans have several files and as you remove one file, another restores it. Safe mode stops this happening.
Try AVG anti spyware;
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/20/lng/us/tpl/v5 - AVG anti spyware
If you do google for a specific anti-dialler, then make sure you use MacAffee Site Advisor because there are a lot of fake anti spyware programs out there;
http://www.siteadvisor.com -MacAffee Site Advisor warns about malware on sites you are about to visit.

give www.superantispyware.com a shot for all around free anti spyware.. I've had good luck with it.. however .. http://www.a-2.org/en/software/antidialer/ is the link you want to fix that dialer free of charge; generally speaking these will use modems and dial out of country numbers/1-900 numbers and ring you a huge tab; this may/may not be a problem with your setup; I personally don't use a dialup modem so no problems there.. give that second link a shot for your dialer problem, and the first seems to have good results with scan/removal in my experiences aswell...
Hope that helps;
Cheers;

Then, Google for: remove dialer.bt.d for more info on your specific problem.
