There are no curse words, there is no name-calling, I see nothing which "violates" the Community Guidelines. Someone reported me for this post because the obvious similarity between bush's Patriot Act and Hitler's Enabling Act made them very angry.
Can anyone, please, post a specific sentence (s) which actually did "violate Community Guidelines?" I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Deleted Question: Do you see Hitler in bush, with the Reichstag Fire being like 9/11 and The Enabling Act being the Patriot Act?"

Question Details: “On March 23, 1933…Hitler's Enabling Act… it would effectively mean the end of democracy in Germany and establish the legal dictatorship of Adolf Hitler. The 'distress' had been secretly caused by the Nazis themselves in order to create a crisis atmosphere that would make the law seem necessary to restore order. On February 27, 1933, they had burned the Reichstag building, seat of the German government, causing panic and outrage. The Nazis successfully blamed the fire on the Communists and claimed it marked the beginning of a widespread uprising. “ http://www.historyplace.com/worldwar2/timeline/enabling.htm

On March 23, 1933, the newly elected members of the German Parliament (the Reichstag) met in the Kroll Opera House in Berlin to consider passing Hitler's Enabling Act.

It was officially called the 'Law for Removing the Distress of the People and the Reich.' If passed, it would effectively mean the end of democracy in Germany and establish the legal dictatorship of Adolf Hitler. On the day of the vote, Nazi storm troopers gathered in a show of force around the opera house chanting, "Full powers - or else! We want the bill - or fire and murder!!"

They also stood inside in the hallways, and even lined the aisles where the vote would take place, glaring menacingly at anyone who might oppose Hitler's will.

Just before the vote, Hitler made a speech to the Reichstag in which he pledged to use restraint. "The government will make use of these powers only insofar as they are essential for carrying out vitally necessary measures...The number of cases in which an internal necessity exists for having recourse to such a law is in itself a limited one." - Hitler told the Reichstag. He also promised an end to unemployment and pledged to promote peace with France, Great Britain and the Soviet Union. But in order to do all this, Hitler said, he first needed the Enabling Act. A two thirds majority was needed, since the law would actually alter the German constitution. Hitler needed 31 non-Nazi votes to pass it.

He got those votes from the Center Party after making a false promise to restore some basic rights already taken away by decree. However, one man arose amid the overwhelming might.

Otto Wells, leader of the Social Democrats stood up and spoke quietly to Hitler. "We German Social Democrats pledge ourselves solemnly in this historic hour to the principles of humanity and justice, of freedom and socialism. No enabling act can give you power to destroy ideas which are eternal and indestructible." This enraged Hitler and he jumped up to respond. "You are no longer needed! - The star of Germany will rise and yours will sink! Your death knell has sounded!"
2007-05-17 07:36:50Additional
The vote was taken - 441 for, only 84, the Social Democrats, against. The Nazis leapt to their feet clapping, stamping and shouting, then broke into the Nazi anthem, the Hörst Wessel song. They achieved what Hitler had wanted for years - to tear down the German Democratic Republic legally and end democracy, thus paving the way for a complete Nazi takeover of Germany. From this day on, the Reichstag would be just a sounding board, a cheering section for Hitler's pronouncements.

EDIT: To A. Mercer: Whether you believe bush was or was not involved in 9/11 does not change the facts that he USED a national tragedy to implement legislation, which was passed hurriedly and before ANYONE in Congress actually READ it, to usurp the Constitution. JUST like the Enabling Act. That is a fact.

************************************ *********************************** To Chredon: For you to compare FDR with Hitler is beyond comprehension. Beyond fathoming. Beyond absurdity. I'm done with you. Except for letting you know that you are WAY, WAY, WAY off base with the "over75% of the budget" lie. I suggest you do some research into the Defense Budget, Homeland Security Budget, and the "black budget" things Uncle Sam spends your defense dollars on which you will NEVER know about. FDR saved this country, pal. Literally SAVED it. How DARE you blaspheme him.

Blueridge, I see nothing in your response that warrants censorship. What is apparent is that there are some people who respond to Yahoo Answers with an agenda in mind. This gives me pause with some of my answers being readily thumbed down, especially with 9/11 and the Moon Hoax. I often check my answers within minutes and noticed that either these people have nothing better to do, which is okay, or that there is a concerted effort to stifle any dissenting views to the subject at hand. And no, this is not paranoia. It's called "pattern recognition." There appears to be a pattern taking place with sensitive subject matters?! Yours may be a good litmus test for further evaluation? People may not agree with the answers or questions, there is no excuse to deprive someone their right to be heard because they might find the information offensive. This is a clear violation of your 1st Amendment rights. I would like to remind people that the CIA in the late 60s under "Operation Mockingbird" instituted a program fostering agents in the fields of Academia and the news media designed to control information and solidify points of view conducive to their ulterior motives. It makes me wonder whether Yahoo Answers falls within this network?
With that said. I think I'll pose a question regarding your plight Blueridge. Let's see if a pattern develops?

Gee, sorry, folks for making a point of comparison. I never said FDR was a fascist, I never said he was in any way like Hitler. In fact, I'm a big fan of FDR and think he saved this country at its darkest hour, both the Depression and WWII.
The only point I was making, which most of you apparently missed, was that the single point in US history when the most power was given to the office of the President was FDR's administration. In his 15 years, we went from a small and relatively hands-off government to the Big Government model that we continue today. I'm not saying FDR was wrong to do so: his actions saved the nation. And FDR did it through consensus, not through fear. But it was the devastating effects of the Great Depression that motivated Congress to GIVE consensus. FDR offered hope, and a change of direction, and people responded to that. Hope is just as powerful a motivator as fear. But some of the EFFECTS were similar: many powers that had been in the hands of the states or the people were concentrated into the Federal government at that time.
That's the only point I was making. Sorry if all of you took it as an attack on FDR or a comparison between him and Hitler. My answer was not intended to compare the MEN, but to compare the effects that their efforts had on the centralization of governmental power.

Good for you. The issue these days that bugs the heck out of me is the lawyers who volunteered to defend the prisoners in Gitmo who are now being investigated for disloyalty. I am reminded of the lawyers in Germany who went to the camps as prisoners because of "overzealous defense of known enemies of the state." I know half a dozen lawyers who have taken their names off the list for assignment to the detainees' cases because of the investigation that was undertaken without notice or clearance.
The parallels are very close. The USA is no longer a free country, but we can take it back.
All power to the people.

You know Yahoo turned over information to the Chinese government on Chinese citizens who were using Yahoo, studying freedom and democracy
and those Chinese citizens Yahoo ratted out are now in Chinese prisons being tortured
Yahoo is about as far right wing as it gets
I get a lot of my answers pulled from yahoo, for posts like this...that are fact based...it happened
Your premise is historically valid...the cycle of violent fascists rising to power via fear,"patriotism & security"

I don't know why it was deleted. It was stupid but that certainly is no reason to delete it. FYI the Patriot Act was written and passed by congress. It has been quite successful in foiling terrorist plots. When the FBI was found to be abusing it they were called on the carpet. No American has been damaged by it.
Were were you on 9/11? Have you forgotten those people jumping to their deaths from the World Trade Center? I was there. I will never forget.
Anyone who would compare any American president to Hitler is just plain wrong. If you think anything done at any time by any American president is at all like fascism, then you have no idea what fascism was, is or did.

i am, reluctantly inclined to agree with you. being an advocate for the freedom of speech. your entitled to voice your opinion. but your history lesson on hitlers rise to power and the reichstag fire bears no relation to the politics of todays america bush was elected by the american people, no gun was put to their heads as they cast their vote, i believe your analogy was incorrect, but i respect your right to state your question without it being subjected to censorship.........a dangerous path to follow in a free society.............
