I think Flags of Our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima combine to make the best history film. It really is one story told from two perspectives. This is what many history movies fail to do. Clint Eastwood is to be commended for making a history film that truly shows the perspectives of both sides of the story.

A good "historically accurate" war movie is A Bridge Too Far. Now remember, it's still Hollywood, but they got it fairly right.

It is a really good tv series, it has war, politics, nudity, betrayal and a little bit of everything else. Good for anyone and you learn a bit about history.
