Refer to your math book if you need a more concise definition which is also more appropriate to your math level. Points, lines, and planes can described in various ways.

In a traditional two-dimentional Cartesian plane, a point can be defined by an independant value x and a dependant value y as an ordered pair: (x, y). A line can be described as a linear function of x or y. In threespace, a plane can be defined as a linear function of x, y or z.

But these can also be defined by using vectors. A point P can be represented by a vector which starts at the origin. A line can be described as a vector that goes through a specific point. A plane can be described as a linear equation of x, y, and z still in threespace, but derived from three vectors (one of which is normal to the plane).

Hope something out of that lot helps =)

Yah. Every mathematical term has a definition.

A point can be defined as a specific location on a plane or in space that is marked out by specific distances from an origin.

A line is the shortest distance between any two points on a plane or in space.

A plane is a mathematical area/ field in which movement is possible in only to directions/co-ordinates which are perpendicular to each other.

point and line are interchangeable , they are part of the aximas.

2 points define one line , 2 lines define one point.
