what is the easiest way you would do to check how much fuel it consumes per liter

Here's one with a little more accuracy...
Fill up until the pump stops automatically.
Do not top up. (ie; don't keep pressing on the pump trigger)
Reset your trip meter.
Drive normally until you need to refuel.
Go back to THAT SAME PUMP.
Fill up until the pump stops automatically.
Record your trip meter and the liter display on the pump.
You now have the 2 figures to calculate your comsumption.
My experience is that if you have an on board computer in your BMW that shows consumption, they always show a better-than-actual consumption.

Drive 300km
Refill and note the pump meter reading.
Calculate
