Is it our aura of evil? Is it instinct after centuries of being hunted? is it the noxious smell of all the artificial perfumes and whatnot?

It's the chemical smell we have. Not everyone has the aura of evil, and to animals there is no evil or good - just different

Pretty simple - better safe than sorry. If an animal fails to flee from another animal species, it has a very high probability of being killed if the other animal is a foe. An animal that treats all other animal species as a foe will have a much higher probability of survival. Natural selection very quickly eliminates behavioral traits that are fatal.

i think wild animals have a fear of anything new ad are exteremley tentaive about it
i havent experienced this with the domestics and have had lovely experiences with every pet i ve met
may be they are just used to our presence and tolertae our array of different perfumes and talcs and bath moiturizers

they do have a very well defined sense of smell

so they must have a very tolerant attitude towards us!!

poor things

God put fear in to every animal. But a few like to eat men, like polar bears, and lions and tigers. They dont run away to often.

it is instinct of all animals including man. whenever an animal big or small present near us we take some attention to it to avoid any injury.infact we do not know it,s intention. in the same way when we go near an animal it feel threats from us as it do not know our intention and as soon as it knows our intention is not to harm it does;nt go away.

no, I beg to differ with everybody..animals feel energy, are very sensitive to good/bad energy..
many times I have been in an angry mood & upon seeing a cat, & trying to stroke it, it senses my energy & flees. other times when I'm in a good mood, they don't run so fast.
I know becos my friend is a very gentle & kind person, animals love him & always go to him.(most of the time)...

animlas are very intuitive & psychic.

Most animals judge potential predators by size, i.e. if its bigger than me then it might eat me. Since humans walk on two legs we appear more dangerous because of our height. Crouching down makes us much less intimidating to other animals.

Aswell as this animals learn by experience, sometimes taught by their parents.

Although animals can smell us, I don't think it is our smell which marks us as dangerous.
