I wouldn't worry. If you had your fully on period, I'd recommend rescheduling.
They're used to everything, & by that I mean EVERYTHING. My gyn told me stories about women who'd come in & not have washed for days/weeks at a time, not to mention women who'd come in with all sorts of STDs.
The nervousness is normal for your first time, as it's not a fun experience. It doesn't hurt, but it's a bit awkward having someone up in your kit-kat that you just met. Let your gyn know & spend a few minutes talking to them. Most are more than willing to make you feel more comfortable, as the more comfortable you are, the easier it is for them to do their job.

My mom has worked for a gyn office for 8 years and she has always told me that spotting is o.k. but if you had your period you should reschedule. they have no problem with a little blood it only takes 2 minutes and usually they are done with the pap. it is uncomfortable with someone you don't know in your area but just relax it will be over soon. and i don't know about anyone else but the only uncomfortable part for me was when they used the tool that spreads you open. it didn't hurt just uncomfortable. i have gone through a lot with my gyn and now i am to the point that i don't care who sees me i feel like everyone has been down there, lol. anyway you will be fine don't worry, good luck~

contemporary-day concepts are for a youthful woman to have her first Pap smear at age 21 or jointly as she turns into sexually energetic - whichever comes first. so because it relatively is now no longer that she "can no longer get a pap smear" yet relatively that it relatively is now no longer necessary at her age as she isn't sexually energetic. Now, if she is having issues consisting of her menstrual cycle and you journey she ought to opt to benefit from being on a initiating administration pill, a consultation with the well-being practitioner must be entirely perfect. This look for for advice from, based upon the well-being practitioner, ought to or might probably now no longer contain a pelvic examination. yet a pelvic examination for somebody her age ought to maximum likely now no longer contain a Pap smear, different than there replaced into some call for it - like a good relatives contributors historic previous of early-onset cervical maximum cancers. desire this helps.

I would call in the a.m. to find out if the spotting that you are having is going to interfere with the pap smear. I am kind of in the same boat right now and I forgot to call the dr's office to ask if this spotting that I have right now (been trying to keep it very light by keeping my iron levels up right now) was going to interfere with my visit in the afternoon around the same time as yours. I will have to call in the a.m. later to find out if this is going to be an issue. Hopefully not.

If it's just spotting, it should be OK. If you are having a regular period, you can reschedule or you can call your OB/GYN to ask them about it.
