if u feel like the page was good, star it. if u have some contacts, the questions u stared can be reviewed by ur contacts (so they know what u think is good to be read). and it would be a pleasure to the asker if he/she see so many people starred his/her question. if the question get starred, the asker gets some points too

They want to feel like a 'star' I guess. People shouldn't ask for them, stars should be earned, just like in grade school

imagine you are on a street walking and searching a place that makes good sandwiches, wouldn't you go to the one that is crowded with people? or u just go to the place where no one is there but you and some other couples? the idea behind the stars is to make your question as the question that won the crowd.
