I believe the correct answer is C. Racing bicycles and dragster cars are made of hollow cylinders. The hollow cylinder has the highest strength for the thickness of the walls compared to any other shape. It's definitely stronger for the weight than a solid cylinder rod or pressed iron or aluminum. If triangular solid rods were the way to go, various racing sports would already be using it, but they are not. Because they are solid, you wouldn't get much thickness for the same weight of a hollow cylinder. The racing industries have done the physics and tested the strength, and the hollow cylinder won.
