The American flag stands for the original 13 colonies and our 50 states. To me it stands for freedom and equality. When I look at our flag I also remember all of those who gave their lives so that we could have this great free country.

White signifies purity and innocence, Red, hardiness & valour, and Blue, the color of the Chief (the broad band above the stripes) signifies vigilance, perseverance & justice

the thirteen stripes are for the thirteen original colonies and the fifty stars are for the fifty states...i dont know why they used the colors though.now i want to know why
