The Constitution IS America.

The only harm from the constitution is from the Government that choses when to honor it, and when to brush it off. Worse is when We, the PEOPLE, let them do it.

The Constitution is irrelevant. The government has never followed it. Within the 10 years after it was passed, they violated it in at least 3 ways. They violated the requirement that money must be gold or silver by chartering a bank to counterfeit money (America had banks up until Jackson, who ushered in the most stable economic period in our history by shutting down the bank, but Lincoln centralized the government and Wilson created the Federal Reserve, which is slowly destroying our currency and harming all but the rich). They violated the 1st Amendment (the Sedition Act). They violated the requirement that they declare War (the undeclared Wars with France and with the Barbary Pirates).

While the government has never gone as far as it could were there no Constitution (thank God), the government has constantly violated the Constitution and usually gets away with it.

The last thing we need to do is get rid of the Constitution. That would lead to our elected dictatorship being replaced with a much worse unelected dictatorship.

Rather, we should work to make the government as small as possible and preferably to shut down the whole thing.

If you have to ask such an absurd question you need to take some time and read it! It is maybe the most logical and powerful writing ever put on paper besides the bible. Of course in this "modern" day our politicians have weaseled enough power from the people to pick and choose what they want to follow. And that is our fault. It was written to keep the government under control mostly. And that is a very helpful thing.

The Constitution has helped. Lawyers have hindered.

The Constitution IS America, it's a shame that we have allowed corrupt politicians and corporations with self guided agendas ruin what the essence of America is. A land where government isn't in your face every day telling you what you can and can't do and taking your money to support the telling to you of you what you can and can't do!

Then, helped, big time.......

Now, hindered, big time......

Too many laws subcontracting laws now, and in the process, destroying the contsitution now. Lawyers can get any movie star off from murder, now another one is in process, I wonder if he gets off........(movie director).

Rich will stay rich, poor will stay poor with the current government, no growth is possible in this situation. No growth from institutes since it is a money thing that lets students into their schools, no growth since no one is learing at the lowest levels.

Letting childrens's growth in their mind's as a factor, not their parent's credit card debt be an influence would be huge.

College rates have increased exponentially over the years, while the gross national product has been more linear. Credit this to your local dean, asking for more money to do the same job.....

The question is moot because our lawmakers are completely unbothered by trying to stay within the limits of the Constitution.

It was meant to help, but since we have all these so called 'students of the constitution' have ripped it apart to justify their own beliefs about what it says or does not say. Its a hindrence. TO THEM

I cannot believe you could ask such a question. Do you know the only thing keeping you from being in shackles is that document?

Delete this question immediately there are too many naive and impressionable minds on this forum.
