I have been down this road and feel for you. The Chinese encourage drinking only hot fluids - tea 1 week prior to your period. I always thought it was a crock, but I tried it and the truth I felt better. So , the week before my period I drink hot green tea throughout the day. If it doesn't work - it won't hurt you. Good luck.

oh yeah i know wt u're talking about, i got the same feeling n it's getting worse every time i got my period, cuz when i was younger all i had was some stomach ache..but when i get older oh my god i always have the feeling to kill everyone, i'm always nervous, very sensitive n i wanna cry all the time without a reason, acting like a crazy immature girl and i dont think that anybody will stand me that way, but they must understand that it's not in our hands, it just comes like this...they say choclate is the best thing for PMSing...sometimes it works with me n other it doesnt...
so try it, also avoide to meet people during ur PMS...i dont go out...i stay home n yell to my mum :'(

It's called self control, you have to learn to keep your self in check. I personally have refused to let my self behave like that. I never wanted to be at work and get ticked off about some thing and have some guy say to me that it must be PMS.

I refused to ever have that happen. Personally I feel that it is my business when and even IF I am having PMS. I don't like using that as a crutch to be able to be ugly, I don't happen to think that is right to do.

No, I'm not perfect and I'm not saying that. It is just that I didn't feel like I needed to share that with the rest of the world. I kept it to my self and didn't go off like some psycho * from H**l as that isn't my style.

You need to get a handle on it as you control it, it shouldn't control you. Because it isn't always the right time to act like a totally fool in public, lets face facts. Just because you can doesn't always mean that you should.

Work it off, work out at a gym. Go for power walks. Do any thing that will wear you out so that you don't have the need to be ugly towards others. As I said control it, don't let it control you.

I have not gotten worse as I've gotten older, I refuse to do that. But then I refuse to let my self look like a total boob, just because of PMS and because I can. Forget it, I'd rather not behave like that as I think that I have better control over my emotions than that. Self control is a beautiful thing, and all adults should have some.

I would recommend trying B6 as it is a good thing for helping the mood swings associated with periods. You can buy it in a bottle by itself or as part of B Complex. You can find it in many big drugstores like Wal-Mart or even The Vitamin Shoppe (you can order online) or even at local health food stores such as Whole Foods and Wild Oats.

As much as it may sound absurd, exercise helps A LOT. Especially cardio or anything that gets your heart rate up. There are also medications you could take to relieve it. I never had it either until i hit my mid 30's. I know how you feel and it is not fun.

Mine certainly has gotten worse with age and I'm only 20! I'm not sure what you can do...I know there are Midol pills out there that claim to help, but I'm not sure if they do or not. Maybe you should try talking to your mom or doctor to see if they have suggestions (a doc will be able to prescribe you pills whereas we on here can't :P) Good luck though!
