I don't actually watch this show, I have just seen the previews on tv for it.

What I'm wondering is, how does the fat guy stay fat on Lost?

Yes, yes, it is just an insignificant tv show, but I mean for christ sake they could make it slightly realistic, lol.

Oh grow up Jeanie. I don't even watch the show. I don't "see a fat guy". I just simply wanted to know how he is staying that way when they're supposely stranded on an island.

I don't care to "appreciate" the show, lol. Simply asked this question out of boredom to see what kind of answers I would get.

First of all, there's real time and then there's Island time. And on the Island, it's only been about 3 1/2 to 4 months. Now, they haven't exactly been going hungry - they just don't have a Mickey D's handy. So, Hurley has still been eating. And when you're that big, a 10-20 pound weight loss isn't going to show up as much.

They've only been on the island for about 2-3 months. They did address this issue. Hurley (the fat guy) said that he has lost weight, but because he is so big, nobody else notices but he can feel it in his clothes. Also, they have found lots of canned foods on the island left by an experimental group. The thing is that nobody else has lost weight either. Claire, the pregnant girl has her flat stomach right after giving birth. Some things you just have to overlook because the story line of the show is so good. If you start watching, you'll be hooked.

Lexi, they actually discussed this on the show itself, so don't feel bad about asking the question here. Hurley (the fat guy) was accused of hording food because he's still large. Hurley says that he HAS lost weight, and that his belt is tighter now. But since they've only been on the island for about two months in tv-time, the weight loss wouldn't be very noticeable.

They get food drops on the island from the Dharma Initiative, a scientific study group that inhabits the island.

FYi, they have only been on the island for 90 days or so.

Not only that, Hurley had a secret stash of food.

Not only that, but Hurley also stated his belt went in a few notches.

Well it's not just Hurley who remains the same, the others too, and they actually all look less grimy, and quite scrubbed down. It's a glamorous series - appreciate it for it's unique plot mechanism, interesting characterizations and group chemistry.

He has mention it many times that he has lost a few inches but because he's a big guy no one can notice that much of diffrence beside you don't expect him to lose 150lb in 3 months.

I'm so tired on everyone picking on Hurley. He's a big guy. YOU SEE A FAT GUY, not a person. Shame on you!!!
