I'm telling you, if you lie to the judge, it's going to piss him off and you might make things worse. It takes a lot of time and $$$$$ to beat these things. There is a book out there ( I forget the name) that gives you tips on beating a ticket. One thing that comes to mind is to keep asking to postpone the court date until the ticketing officer can't make it. They suggest that you try to find what when he goes on vacation and try to get a court date that week.

If you entered a car pool lane on a motorcycle the permit part is of no relevance, you should have known better. Now had you a passenger on the back you wouldn't have gotten a ticket for that, just the speeding ticket.

speeding we all have been guilty of ,and just going to court and fighting the ticket ,with no excuse will get you out of it about 20% of the time. As to car pool most cities wont cite motorcycles for using or crossing line. In your case you didn't have any right to be on the road .

u should have known full well the permit restrictions, and speeding is just a no-brainer whether its a cage or bike. u wont be able to fight this even with johnny cochran. rules on the permit are very specific, and very well written out. it would be very bad to piss a judge off....he can easily order ur bike impounded.

If you were speeding and crossing lanes erratically, then you really have nothing to fight. You're guilty. There isn't any gray area here for you to exploit.
Slow down and chill out next time. Call it a lesson learned.

this actually happened to me (other than the car pool lane, lol). tell the judge that you were riding with a licenced rider and he took off. worried about riding alone, you were trying to keep up with the other person and when you decided it was too dangerous to continue, you slowed down and decided to head home. i received a conditional discharge, no fines, no trouble.

That sucks dude.. I would definately call a lawyer. I dont think there is any way you can talk your way out of this one. A lawyer will be cheaper in the long run.

try something like your friend was sick or having baby and you were in mad rush to get there. or some crazy motorist was trying to off you (go all mad max on them hehheh) and you were just trying to avoid them and thus helpfullly avoid a road hazard that could have turned into catasrophie for all concerned. or you are a learner and you had to change to reserve tank but youd never done it before whilst riding (this happened to me years ago and i slowed to like 20km on motorway but they dont need to know schemantics right) and you burned your hand on bike and your inattention lead to increased speed and swerving. oh how about your throttle got jammed on superspeedy and you went into that other lane to get out of the way of traffic. (d*** i am good at this!!)
