If you're this sick, and green means infection.. NO you would NOT have to wait a week. I would goto the doctor ASAP. I mean, at the baby shower you should be feeling good... not to mention you might get the guests suck. It sounds like a throat infection, or a lung infection..and should be treated quickly so it doesn't become more serious.

No I would be seen make sure you don't have anything else going on yes some things draining can make you throat swell but strip thought can make your throat swell 2 and if you get a fever go in don't wait get checked out. sounds like nasal drainage it sucks. I don't like taken meds but some times you need them . go to a OB DR and get checked out not a Nurse Practictoiner. we know our own body's better then any DR will ever, you have to go with your gut filling and if you feel they are wrong go get a 2nd Pinyin or 3rd some times they are taught by the wrong DR so if you go to the one working with them you may get the same advice so go else where. why a week that is crazy they need to look at you now and make sure its not out of hand . what a horrible nurse pracitctoiner . you should be checked out at least . don't settle for any thing but the best care . and some times if you call them in the middle of the night they are 1/2 way a sleep when they answer so may not have been thinking or just to lazy to care .
I hope you feel better soon .

Its all thanks to your hormones running a muck. Try drinking decaf tea with lemon to help soothe it and maybe gargling salt water before bed every night, if you can without crying. Anything that you do will help. Stay away from foods that will give you heartburn because that will only make your raw throat worse. I am 22 weeks right now and I get a sore throat a lot, the way I get rid of it is before and after bed I eat a tums. Dont chew it but let it disolve in your mouth and slowly run down your throat, its weird but it helps me a ton! Good luck hun!

Depending on the doctor, some will give you antibiotics and some will not, it the luck of the draw. I suggest theraflu or sitting in your bathroom with the shower on hot and let the steam clear up the mess. I was in the same situation with my pregnacy and my doctor would not give me anything and I went ahead and used childrens cough syrup, But that was me. Bug your doctor to do something for you. Also dring plenty of water.

They need to wait a week to see if it is a virus (antibiotics will make a virus worse). You won't lose your voice forever and Theraflu is a really good option. Hot tea and 7up may also help. Try to rest and get in when you can. Best wishes.

Try getting Claricid/Klaricid, or Cefalexin. I always rely on those when I feel my throt's getting itchy and all that, especially when I have a show or whatever.
But then, you are pregnant, right? so don't do that. I don't know if this Chinese medicine is available there, but it works wonders. it's called PEI PA KOA and it really does a lot for sore throat and all that. It tastes like honey and has this menthol that soothes your throat.
